John Denver is a popular artist and musician who has been able to touch many through his music. A lot of them are based on Colorado. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in the love of Colorado and eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's most popular songs about his adopted home state inspired many visitors to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame said it was because John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. Denver was the very one of the first Hall of Fame inductee in 2011. Today he personifies the state for all people. Certainly in my travels you meet someone from the other part of the globe, one of New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the very first thing that comes out of their mouth is Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was one of Denver's top 10 singles after he performed with small folk music bands. It was co-written and produced by Bill Danoff. Danoff had Johnny Cash as the inspiration for the song, but Denver discovered that it was destined to turn into a hit once it was discovered that an earlier version. The track was released just two weeks following that Washington D.C. performance.
